Commissioned by the CMSRU Charter Class, the painting “Sodzo – Compassionate Promise” commemorates the Class of 2016’s commitment to compassion and healing and their work and service in Camden and local communities. The multi-layered painting features typographic content (Camden, Compassion, Promise, CMSRU), fractured texturing that represents distressed urban landscapes and challenges, a map of CMSRU’s location in Camden, and symbols including the CMSRU flame, an anatomical diagram of the human heart, and the Rod of Asclepius.
