In spring 2019, Dr. Jen Kitson’s with her Urban Geography course at Rowan University planned and created an original temporary student public art mural sharing students’ experiences exploring public art and public spaces. The students collaborated to obtain canvas and painting supplies and also worked to make the project open to the wider campus community. The day-long event included painting the student public art mural and activating the basketball courts, where the students invited those passing by to join in on the fun. The event also included live music. The Rowan University Digital Scholarship Center assisted with photography and projection mapping. The below video documents the event and the joy of the students in this Urban Geography course working on the project.
