David Wilson is a glass artist and designer living in central New York State since 1978. Born in England in 1941, he graduated from art school with a National Diploma in Design (NDD) in 1961. He then immigrated to the USA to work primarily as a stained glass designer for the Rambusch Decorating Company in NYC. In addition to stained glass design, he also provided space planning, interior and sanctuary furnishings design, murals, and architectural model building. In 1975 he became head of the stained glass studio prior to moving upstate.

His aesthetic approach works with the design sensibility of each project he undertakes, integrating glass art with the architectural environment. His projects range from religious buildings, airports, medical centers, major corporate and public buildings, to private residences. Quoting the Jury from the General Services Administration Design Award for Robert C. Byrd U.S. Courthouse, Charleston, WV – “The elegant and deliberate juxtaposition of geometry and color in this work results in a brilliant melding of tradition with contemporary artistic and architectural intent. The exemplary use of scale and color in the work creates a unique perception of the interior space.”
